Stock Dove are one of the UK’s most poorly studied resident birds. It’s wood-pigeon cousins populations have exploded recently. Stock Dove are widespread across Manchester but the factors that affect their distribution are not understood.

This project aims to map their distribution in Manchester and relate this back to environmental factors, such as, nest sites and food.

This project is being lead by James Richardson as a Masters project in the School of Science and the Environment at Manchester Metropolitan University. The project is supervised by Stuart Marsden whose group concentrates on the conservation ecology of birds and other wildlife.
